Erin Foster

Director Mental Health Access Center

Erin Foster is an Iowa native.  She attended the University of Iowa where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology in 2007.  Since graduation from U of IA, Erin has worked in the Cedar Rapids area in areas such as youth mental health and substance use disorder.  It was during her time at the Area Substance Abuse Council where her love for anything related to community based work really grew.  During her time at ASAC, Erin not only oversaw the Prevention Department in Linn, Benton, and Jones County, but she also had the pleasure of working with many communities through training and policy work both locally and state wide.

In 2019, Erin began her journey as the first ever Linn County Mental Health Access Center Director.  Prior to opening in March of 2021, Erin was responsible for the creation of policies and procedures that would ultimately lead five organizations coming together under one roof to form a one stop shop for those experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis.

After working in leadership roles for over a decade, Erin decided to continue her education and in 2023, Erin graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with her Masters in Organizational Leadership.   Erin knows none of her successes throughout her education or professionally come without the strong individuals and organizations who are always willing to work collaboratively to make Linn County a strong and vibrant community.
